 VIP Travel News

Jill Kirkpatrick

I'm Jill Kirkpatrick, Assistant Vice President and VIP Travel Club Coordinator of the Golden VIP Club at Northwest Bank and Trust Company. We will periodically update this site with some of our current travel plans. Guest pricing is always available. There are one-day trips to tour factories, attend Broadway musicals at area theaters and much more. Plus, there are several multi-day trips and international travel offered. Call us today at (563) 388-2550 and join us.

Dear Friends:

Spring has finally come and our newsletter is bursting with travel ideas. I hope you will consider joining us. There are some wonderful shows coming up at The Fireside and also at the Barn in Goodfield.  If you haven’t been to one or both, come along—great food and theater.

I've reserved seats for two Broadway Shows in Chicago "Flashdance, the Musical" and "Once" a new musical. See August 14 for further details about "Flashdance, the Musical" and October 9 for "Once" a new musical.

Two trip previews are coming up soon. On May 21, see the preview for South America, in particular Argentina and Chile scheduled for February 1-8. Bariloche is like visiting Germany and Switzerland with mountains, beautiful lakes, chocolate shops and more. Then on May 30, preview our Hawaii land and cruise trip March 5-16. It’s the ideal time to visit Hawaii to see the humpback whales. We are still waiting for the date to be set for our Canadian Rockies trip in June, 2014. See additional information on all these trips inside.

Very few seats remain on our mystery trips so call right away. A new 3-day one has been scheduled for October 1-3 and it promises to be one of the best ever! The Shipshewana trip is filling quickly and you’ll find the Branson trip for this year is now booked with a great price for 5 days, 6 shows, 10 meals, VIP seating and much more.

Thanks to all of you who are so loyal to Northwest Bank and our VIP Program. We appreciate your relationship with us, and I personally look forward to seeing you and all your friends soon.  God bless you and God bless America!

Jill D. Kirkpatrick, Assistant Vice President

“Little Shop of Horrors”
From the award winning composing team who brought us Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast”, “The Little Mermaid”, and “Aladdin”, The Fireside presents this great high-spirited, rollicking musical comedy about a boy, a girl, and a plant. The original Off-Broadway production of “Little Shop” won the coveted Drama Desk Award for Best Musical as well as the Drama Critics Circle and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Its recent triumphant Broadway revival was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Revival! It is a fun-filled, delightful “spoof” of all those great old 50’s science fiction movies. Seymour, the nerdy clerk at a down-on-its-luck flower shop, loves the shop’s beautiful cashier Audrey and sets out to impress her by growing the world’s most unusual plant. Hilarity ensues when he discovers that the plant requires more than just water and sun to thrive. A tuneful musical score and a quirky, off-beat romance makes this show one of the last decade’s most successful and entertaining shows. Lunch will be an Asian salad of Napa cabbage, onions, noodles, almonds, and craisins with diced breast of capon, fresh breads from the Fireside ovens, roast boneless pork chop and herbed dressing with sauerkraut and Jones sausage, served with potatoes glazed with gravy, corn O’Brien and applesauce. Dessert is Italian flan surrounded by fresh berries. Leave 7:00 a.m., return 8:00 p.m. VIPs $119, guests $124, includes bus, lunch, show and tax. This one’s a winner.

Leave 9:45 a.m., return 6:00 p.m. VIPs $76, and guests $81, includes bus, brunch buffet, show and tax.

“Run for Your Wife”
This year, The Fireside is adding a comedy to its season – but not just any comedy – possibly the funniest comedy ever written! Unassuming cab driver John Smith is mugged one day and is taken home by a helpful policeman. Unfortunately the policeman takes him to the wrong home – because unassuming John Smith has two homes and two wives and according to his carefully laid out schedule on this particular day he is supposed to be with Wife #2 but he finds himself with Wife #1 while worried Wife #2 searches desperately for him. Confused? Don’t worry because it will all come together in this hilarious collection of mistaken identities as Mr. Smith tries to juggle two wives, two apartments, and two very suspicious police detectives. You will laugh till it hurts and then laugh some more at this rollicking comic masterpiece.  Lunch begins with cream of watercress soup, fresh baked Fireside breads, followed by a medallion of beef tenderloin and chicken Vienna, a skinless breast of chicken topped with Canadian bacon and boursin and Swiss cheeses served with a potato croquette au gratin and fresh sugar snap peas. For dessert, enjoy triple layer carrot cake and house-made tropical pineapple mango sherbet. Leave 7:00 a.m., return 8:00 p.m. VIPs $119, guests $124, includes bus, lunch, show and tax. This is one of those zany comedies.

“Odd Couple” (Women!)
The Barn at Goodfield presents a Neil Simon classic with an all new gender bending twist! Unger and Madison are at it again! Florence Unger and Olive Madison, that is, in this hilarious contemporary comic classic. Instead of the poker party, Ms. Madison has invited the girls over for an evening of Trivial Pursuit. The Pidgeon sisters have been replaced by the two Constanzuela brothers. But the hilarity remains the same. And in the expert hands of our own Mary Simon and Peoria legend Lana Warner, it’s a guaranteed afternoon full of laughs! Leave 9:45 a.m., return 6:00 p.m. VIPs $76, and guests $81, includes bus, brunch buffet, show and tax.

“Once Upon a Mattress”
Join us as we travel to the Fireside for this great show. Many moons ago in a far off place, lived a handsome prince with a gloomy face . . .for he could not find a bride. The Princess and the Pea is one of the best known fairy tales of all. You may think you know this time honored tale but let us tell you the real story in one of Broadway’s happiest shows and one of The Fireside’s most popular productions. This show turns that well known fairy tale on its ear with the story of Princess Winifred of the swamps and Prince Dauntless the Drab and the up and down, inside-out love story. Naturally the course of true love never runs smoothly when you have a domineering mother, a conniving wizard, a mute king, and a court full of knights and ladies desperate to get married. Get ready for delightful music, beautiful period costumes, and knee-slapping, rib-tickling comedy. This show made Carol Burnett a star. Lunch will consist of a fresh fruit salad, fresh baked Fireside breads, rock Cornish game hen presented on a bed of blended wild rice and Wisconsin craisins served with pecan crusted sweet potato soufflé and fresh asparagus spears. Dessert is Lemon Mousse cheesecake crowned with a lemon cream mousse. Leave 7:00 a.m., return 8:00 p.m. VIPs $119 guests $124 includes bus, brunch buffet, show and tax.

"Once"
His music needed one thing…her. Winner of eight 2012 Tony Awards including Best Musical, "Once" is truly an original Broadway experience. As the chemistry between them grows, his music soars to powerful new heights…but their unlikely connection turns out to be deeper and more complex than your every day romance.
