Karen Goodall, CSA
Vice President and Senior Trust Officer

Karen manages the Investment Management Group of Northwest Bank. She has over 35 years of banking experience encompassing all aspects of trust management and administration. Karen is a graduate of the National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University. She also holds the designation of CSA (Certified Senior Advisor). Karen is actively involved in the community and has served over the years in various functions for civic and charitable organizations.

Daniel R. Zude, CFP
Portfolio Manager

Dan Zude has 18 years experience in trust and investment management and has been a Portfolio Manager for the last 7 years. He has a Masters Degree in business and economics from St. Ambrose University and is a Certified Financial Planner. Dan is an active member of the Rock Island Rotary. Dan brings knowledge and experience to the Investment Management Group team.

Janet SwansonJanet Swanson, CSA
Trust Officer, Account Administration
Janet has over 30 years experience in the banking industry and has been in trust and investment administration for the last 10 years. Janet attended Augustana College and has also completed multiple American Institute of Banking courses in trust operations, administration and IRA compliance. She has attended Cannon Financial Trust School, and she holds the designation of CSA (Certified Senior Advisor). Janet’s responsibilities include the administration of trust, investment management and IRA accounts.

Karrie Roels, CSOP
Trust Operations Officer

Karrie has over 30 years trust and related banking experience. Karrie has attended Illinois Bankers Association Trust School and Cannon Financial Institute Trust Administration School. She is a graduate of the Cannon Financial Trust Operations School, receiving her Certified Securities Operations Professional (CSOP) designation in 1998.

Marybeth Guy
Trust Officer, Account Administration

Marybeth has over 20 years of administrative experience. She graduated from St. Ambrose University with a Business Administration degree. She is a graduate of Cannon Financial Institute Trust School. Her responsibilities include the administration of estate, personal trust and investment management accounts. Marybeth has been involved in volunteer efforts in the community such as Habitat for Humanity and United Way, and also volunteers her time at area food banks and school fund raisers.

Investment & Trust Officer

Cody is a graduate of Clarke College in Dubuque, IA. He has over 10 years experience in the financial industry and has attended Cannon Financial Trust School for administration and retirement planning. He also holds the designation of CRSP (Certified Retirement Services Professional). Cody is an active member of the Quad Cities Young Professionals Network. His responsibilities include business development, new customer relationships and retirement plan administration.

Todd Klein
Business Development Officer

Todd is a graduate of St. Ambrose University and is currently completing his Masters of Business Degree with Colorado State University. He is a native of the Quad Cities and has over 15 years experience in business development. Todd has been active in many community events and nonprofit organizations including Genesis Health Services Foundation, Community Health Care, Hand in Hand, Quad City Arts, and Bettendorf Public Library Foundation.

Joe Slavens picJoe Slavens
President and Chief Executive Officer, Attorney

Joe Slavens graduated with highest distinction from the University of Iowa College of Business Administration in 1985 with a double major in economics and finance. After college, Joe worked as a commercial real estate credit analyst at a major Chicago bank. Joe entered law school in 1986 and the University of Iowa College of Law conferred upon him with high distinction the degree of Juris Doctor in 1988. Joe currently serves on the Boards of Directors for the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center, the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce, Quad Cities First (the region’s economic development organization), Zea Capital Fund, LLC (an Iowa based venture capital fund), and on the Board of Governors for the Wildwood Hills Ranch for at-risk youth.

Margaret Rich picMargaret Rich
Assistant Vice President, Commercial Investment Officer

Margaret manages the Commercial Investment Department of Northwest Bank & Trust Company. She has 30 years of banking experience at Northwest Bank & Trust serving in the Operations and Investment Management Group departments. She manages the bank’s Investment Portfolio and Cash Management areas, coordinates and serves on the bank’s Asset Liability Committee and serves on the Trust Investment & Account Review Committee. Margaret graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a B.S. in Business (Finance), the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin Madison and the ABA National School of Bank Investments & Financial Management.
